About
Beginning in 2015 as a rights meeting involving only two companies, the Tokyo Rights Meeting (TRM) was officially set up with 26 participating companies in 2017. Since then it has developed into a major event, with nearly 60 exhibitors and more than 200 overseas visitors in 2019. Due to the onset of the coronavirus pandemic, the event was indefinitely postponed. From 2023 the Japan Publishing Industry Foundation for Culture (JPIC) joined the organizing committee to provide structural and managerial support for the event. In light of the unfortunate decision to discontinue the Tokyo International Book Fair in 2018, a globally recognized positive driving force in the publishing industry, we aim to develop the TRM and give it a robust, stable structure to ensure the continued exchange of translation rights. We would like to thank exhibitors and visitors alike for their endless support.
*In 2026, the name for "Tokyo Rights Meeting" was officially changed to "Tokyo International Rights Meeting."
